Where Are My Outlook Contacts?

Have you set up a workflow to move Outlook contacts over only to find that none have actually come through? No worries! Our workflows can only bring contacts over from your Office 365 account — so chances are your contacts are stored in your Outlook desktop software. This article will guide you through checking your Office 365 contacts and how to export/import them from Outlook.

Steps to check your Office 365 contacts

1

Go to Office 365

Navigate to www.office365.com in your browser.

2

Sign in to your account

Click Sign In and log in with your Office 365 credentials.

3

Open Outlook

Once logged in, select Outlook from the left-side panel.

4

Load your contacts

Click the People icon to load your contacts. If no contacts appear, they are likely stored only in your Outlook desktop application — see the next section for how to resolve this.

Contacts not showing? Export & import from Outlook

If your contacts do not appear in Office 365, they are stored only in your Outlook desktop software. Follow Microsoft's official guides to move them over:

Tip: Once you have completed the import into Office 365, you are ready to continue with your API Nation workflow. Happy Syncing!

Still not working?

Check your account type. Make sure you are logging into an Office 365 account, not a personal Outlook.com account, as API Nation workflows only connect to Office 365.

Reconnect Outlook. If contacts still don't appear after importing, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Outlook integration in API Nation.

Contact support. If you are still experiencing issues, submit a ticket and an API Nation Success Specialist will reach out with a solution.
