How To Connect and Update BoldTrail (kvCORE) Connection

This article covers how to connect BoldTrail to API Nation for the first time, as well as how to update an existing connection if your API key has changed or your workflows are failing with authentication errors.

HOW TO GET YOUR BOLDTRAIL API KEY

Both sections below require your BoldTrail API key. Follow these steps to locate it.

1

Log in to BoldTrail

Log in to your BoldTrail account.

2

Navigate to Lead Dropbox

Click Lead Engine on the left menu, then click Lead Dropbox.

HOW TO UPDATE BOLDTRAIL CONNECTION

Use these steps if BoldTrail is already connected but you need to replace the connection — for example, your API key changed, workflows are failing with authentication errors, or API Nation support has asked you to reconnect.

Important: Add the new connection before deleting the old one. If you delete your only BoldTrail connection first, BoldTrail will no longer appear under My Apps and you will need to follow the How to Connect steps above instead.
1

Log in to API Nation

Go to apination.com and log in with your API Nation credentials.

2

Open BoldTrail in My Apps

Click My Apps in the top menu, then click on the BoldTrail logo.

5

Delete the old connection

You should now see two BoldTrail connections listed. Click the trash can icon next to the old connection to delete it.

6

Update your workflows

Click My Syncs in the top menu. Click into each workflow that uses BoldTrail and make sure the new BoldTrail connection is selected. This ensures your workflows use the fresh connection going forward.

Tip: After connecting or updating, run a quick test to confirm data is syncing correctly. Check the workflow run history for any errors to make sure the connection is working as expected.

Still not working?

Connection fails when adding account. Double-check your BoldTrail API key. Try generating a new API key in BoldTrail (Lead Engine → Lead Dropbox → check ALL → Generate) and using the fresh key in API Nation.

BoldTrail not showing in My Apps. If you deleted your connection before adding a new one, BoldTrail will no longer appear under My Apps. Follow the How to Connect BoldTrail steps above to re-add it through All Applications.

Workflows still failing after reconnecting. Make sure every workflow has the new connection selected under My Syncs. Check the workflow run history in API Nation for specific error messages.
