SkySlope to BoldTrail BackOffice Integration: Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about sending SkySlope transactions to BoldTrail BackOffice as Incoming Transactions. Click a question to see the answer. For full setup steps, see How the SkySlope to BoldTrail BackOffice Integration Works.
Getting started
What does this integration do?
It sends your Active and Pending SkySlope transactions to BoldTrail BackOffice as Incoming Transactions. Each one includes the property address, price, key dates, office gross commission, MLS number, and the buyers, sellers, agent and other-side agent as contacts.
Who is this integration for?
Brokerages that manage transactions in SkySlope and run their back office in BoldTrail BackOffice. It saves your team from typing each transaction into BoldTrail BackOffice by hand.
What do I need before I set it up?
- Access to your brokerage’s SkySlope account and its API credentials.
- Access to your BoldTrail BackOffice account and its API key.
- A list of the SkySlope transaction Types your office wants in BoldTrail BackOffice.
For the full steps, see How the SkySlope to BoldTrail BackOffice Integration Works.
How long does setup take?
Most people finish setup in a few minutes. After you turn the workflow on, the first check runs within 15 minutes.
What syncs and when
How often does the integration sync?
API Nation checks SkySlope every 15 minutes for transactions that were created or changed since the last check. Syncing is not instant, so allow up to 15 minutes for a change to show up.
Which SkySlope transactions are sent?
A transaction is sent only when it passes all three of these checks:
- Status: it is Active or Pending in SkySlope.
- Transaction type: its Type is selected in the Transaction types to sync drop-down.
- Agent: its agent has a first and last name in SkySlope.
Why can’t I choose which statuses to sync?
The status check is built into the integration, so it does not appear as a setting. Only Active and Pending transactions are sent. The Transaction types to sync drop-down controls transaction Types (such as Purchase or Listing), not statuses.
What is the difference between “All” and picking individual types?
All sends every transaction Type, including Referral, BPO and Other. To send only some Types, uncheck All and check the ones you want. Either way, only Active and Pending transactions are sent.
Will my existing transactions sync?
Only if you check Sync All on First Run before the workflow runs for the first time. Then all existing Active and Pending transactions are sent.
If you leave it unchecked, only transactions created or changed from about two days before you turn the workflow on are sent.
I forgot to check “Sync All on First Run.” Can I still bring older transactions over?
Yes. Any transaction that changes in SkySlope is sent on the next check, so a small edit to an older Active or Pending transaction will send it.
If you have many older transactions to bring over, contact API Nation Support and we can help.
Why is my first sync taking a while?
Each 15-minute check picks up a limited number of transactions, oldest changes first. If you turned on Sync All on First Run with many open transactions, they arrive over several checks rather than all at once. This is normal.
Why didn’t my new listing sync?
The integration sends SkySlope transactions. A SkySlope listing file that is not yet a transaction is not sent. It is sent once it becomes a transaction in SkySlope, as long as it passes the three checks above.
I added a transaction type later. Why didn’t those transactions sync?
Transactions of a newly added Type are sent the next time they change in SkySlope. They are not sent right away. A small edit to the transaction in SkySlope will send it on the next check.
Updates, closings and cancellations
If I change a transaction in SkySlope, will BoldTrail BackOffice be updated?
Yes. Changed transactions are sent again on the next check, as long as they are still Active or Pending and pass the other checks.
If I change something in BoldTrail BackOffice, does it go back to SkySlope?
No. Data only goes one way, from SkySlope to BoldTrail BackOffice.
What happens when a transaction closes in SkySlope?
Closed transactions are not sent. When a transaction closes in SkySlope, that change does not reach BoldTrail BackOffice. Update the closing in BoldTrail BackOffice directly.
What happens when a transaction is canceled or expires in SkySlope?
Canceled, Expired and Archived transactions are not sent. The cancellation does not reach BoldTrail BackOffice, so update or remove the transaction there directly.
The data that comes over
What information is sent for each transaction?
The property address, price, transaction type, which side your office represents, listing, expiration, acceptance, closing and closed dates, office gross commission, lead source and agent name. It also sends MLS number, property type, county, direction and year built as custom attributes.
For the full field list, see What data is sent in How the SkySlope to BoldTrail BackOffice Integration Works.
Which contacts are added to the transaction?
| SkySlope | BoldTrail BackOffice contact type |
|---|---|
| Every buyer | Buyer |
| Every seller | Seller |
| Your agent | Agent |
| Other side agent | Brokerage |
Each contact includes name, email, phone, mobile phone, fax, company and address when SkySlope has them.
Which price is sent?
| SkySlope Type | Price sent |
|---|---|
| Listing, Lease Landlord | List Price |
| Purchase, Lease Tenant | Sale Price |
| Any other Type | Sale Price if there is one, otherwise List Price |
If the preferred price is blank, the other price is used instead.
Are documents or checklist items sent?
No. The integration does not send documents or checklist items. Only transaction details and contacts are sent.
Are commission splits sent?
No. Only the office gross commission is sent. Commission splits and agent-level commission amounts are not, so enter those in BoldTrail BackOffice.
Can I change which fields are sent?
The field mapping is set by API Nation and is the same for every brokerage. If you need a field added or changed, contact API Nation Support and tell us what you need.
How can I tell which Incoming Transactions came from SkySlope?
Every transaction this integration sends has its source set to SkySlope.
Incoming Transactions in BoldTrail BackOffice
Why do I have to accept each transaction?
BoldTrail BackOffice holds anything sent from another system as an Incoming Transaction until someone reviews it. This lets your back office team check the details before the transaction goes live. The integration cannot accept transactions for you.
I discarded an Incoming Transaction by mistake. Will it come back?
No. Updates are not sent to an Incoming Transaction that was discarded. Contact api nation support with the property address and we will help you get it back.
Why am I seeing duplicate Incoming Transactions?
Each SkySlope transaction is linked to its BoldTrail BackOffice record by the SkySlope transaction ID, so updates go to the same record rather than creating a new one.
Duplicates usually mean another tool or integration is also sending SkySlope transactions to BoldTrail BackOffice. Turn off the other sync. If that is not the cause, contact API Nation Support.
Managing the workflow
How do I change which transaction types are sent?
Open the workflow in API Nation. In the Trigger section, update Transaction types to sync and click Save. The change applies from the next check.
How do I turn the integration off?
Open the workflow in API Nation and turn it off. Nothing new is sent after that. Incoming Transactions and transactions already in BoldTrail BackOffice stay where they are.
What if I change my SkySlope or BoldTrail BackOffice credentials?
Reconnect the app on the workflow page with the new credentials, then click Save. Until you do, the workflow cannot reach that app and nothing will sync.
