Brivity and Mailchimp Sync via API Nation

 

 

The Brivity and Mailchimp integration will synchronize your Contacts between Brivity and your Audiences in Mailchimp. The integration has two Syncs available so you can create a complete two way sync between Brivity and Mailchimp. 

 

• All of your Brivity Contacts are automatically added to your Newsletter Audience in Mailchimp. No more importing / exporting to update your list. 

• Contacts and Leads that come through your Mailchimp landing pages or Facebook forms are automatically added to Brivity

• Keep Brivity contacts info in lock step with your Mailchimp Contacts info.

Head to https://my.apination.com/apps/brivity/mailchimp/ to get started. 

 

There you will see 2 syncs available for Brivity and Mailchimp. 

 

1. Brivity leads to Mailchimp Subscribers

2. Mailchimp Subscribers into Brivity leads

 

You can set up 1 or both of these Syncs for the same flat rate. Click activate to begin set up. 

 

 

After clicking Activate on one of the Syncs 

 

First you will sign into your API Nation account. 

1. If you don’t have an API Nation account yet, click the “Create One” link here to get started. You will submit an email address and password, and then have to confirm your email address to set up the account. 

2. If you already have an API Nation account click to to sign in

3. If you have a Google account you can click here to sign in, or to create an account connected to your Google account

 

 

Once you’ve signed in, you’ll be asked to Connect Brivity, click the button “Connect Brivity Account”

To connect Brivity enter your… 

Username: Your Brivity login email

Password: Your Brivity password

Name: What you would like to name the connection, can be your name, your business name, the office name etc. 

 

 

Once Brivity is connected, the next step is to connect Mailchimp. Click to “Connect Mailchimp account” button

 

To connect Mailchimp you will need

1. to name the connection. Can be your name, your business’ name, your team’s name etc.

2. An API Key from your Mailchimp account. 

 

The API Key can be  can be found by logging into Mailchimp and navigating to Accounts -> Extras -> API Keys

 

Click your profile picture in the lower left hand corner and click Profile from the menu

 

Click Extras and then API Keys

 

 

If you don’t yet have a key you can click the Create a Key button. And then highlight the entire key, and copy it using CTRL+C or (Command+C on Mac). 

Go back to the API Nation window and paste the API Key into the proper field and click Connect

 

Both apps are now connected. You can now begin configuring your Sync for launch. There are a few options to decide before activating the Sync. Starting with the “Brivity leads to Mailchimp Subscribers” sync:

 

1. “Sync all Leads on first run”: Check the box to send over all contacts from Brivity, leave the box unchecked if you’d only like to start sending over new contacts added from today going forward. 

2. Filter Tags: Optional filter to send over contacts to Mailchimp from a tag or number of tags. Be sure to add a comma after each tag, and enter the tags exactly as they are in Brivity, including capitalization.  

3. Agent Filter: Optional filter, choose to send contacts assigned to All Agents, or a single specified Agent. 

4. Audience: Choose the Mailchimp Audience you want the contacts synced into (NOTE: For the Mailchimp into Brivity Sync, the Audience you select will be the only contacts Synced into Brivity)

 

 

Scroll down and confirm the mapping. 

 

Once you’re satisfied with the options, Scroll to the top and click the big Activate Sync button. 

 

 

The Sync will now be activated. From here you can…

1. Rename the Sync (helpful if you created multiple Syncs with slightly different rules. 

2. Pause the Sync

3. Clone the Sync to create a Sync with the exact same connection and configuration, you can then make the slight configuration changes to fit your needs

4. Click the Brivity logo or Mailchimp logo to be taken to their full menu of Syncs available. 

 

You can then go back to: https://my.apination.com/apps/brivity/mailchimp to set up your choice of the remaining Brivity and Mailchimp Syncs. 

 

Once you’ve connected them, they will all be available for management in the “My Syncs” area of API Nation. 

 

That’s it!

As soon as a contact is updated or added in Brivity, the integration will see it and send it over to your Mailchimp Audience. And as soon as you add a Contact to your Mailchimp, that contact will also be added into Brivity.
